I think i’ve learned some things…
As humans, our natural functioning/activity such as eating, sleeping, etc. were sometimes the enemy’s bait to keep us from thinking a train of thoughts, realization, or convictions especially when it’s all about the purpose of our existence.
Facile might it seems but the enemy sometimes, too, work in a practical manner that we often overlooked, like “Breakfast is more important right now, i could be more pragmatic sometimes later!”
By the very act of arguing, a mental argument maybe, could awake one’s reasoning, and once it is awake as Screwtape says, “who can foresee the result?” Then it could be a breakthrough, maybe. A long awaited breakthrough from that bondage which painfully blinding humans and be fond of “that inarticulate sense for actuality which is our ultimate safeguard against the aberrations mere logic. As again says by the senior devil from the book, Screwtape.
Indeed, the saddest part is the fact that we are accustomed to philosophies since we were young that keep us from thinking about the Doctrine as primarily “true” or “false”, but as “academic” or “practical”, “outworn” or “contemporary”, “conventional” or “ruthless”.
Now think. Don’t let the bait of the enemy cease you. Question what cannot be seen nor touch.
